Billy Billingham is a decorated military leader, elite bodyguard, and television personality, best known for his role as Chief Instructor on SAS: Who Dares Wins. With over 20 years of service in the SAS, Billy has led some of the world’s most dangerous and high-stakes missions, earning prestigious awards, including the Queen’s Commendation for Bravery and an MBE, presented by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Billy began his military career in 1983, joining the Parachute Regiment before passing selection for the SAS in 1991. As a Mountain Troop specialist, he was responsible for planning and executing strategic operations across Iraq, Afghanistan, South America, and Africa. His expertise in counter-terrorism, combat survival, and high-risk hostage rescues made him one of the most respected operatives in the British Special Forces. Over his career, he earned certifications as an SF and Counter-Terrorist Sniper Instructor, an Advanced Evasive Driving Instructor, and an expert in demolition, jungle warfare, and extreme environment survival.

After leaving the military, Billy transitioned into the world of private security, becoming a bodyguard for some of Hollywood’s biggest names, including Sir Michael Caine, Hulk Hogan, Kate Moss, Russell Crowe, and Tom Cruise. He later served as Head of Security for Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, ensuring their safety on global assignments.

Billy is now a familiar face on television, leading SAS: Who Dares Wins, where he and a team of former Special Forces operators put civilians and celebrities through the ultimate test of mental and physical endurance. His no-nonsense leadership has made him a fan favourite, guiding recruits through the toughest challenges in unforgiving environments like the Jordanian desert.

In 2023, Billy brought his expertise to the U.S. as a Directing Staff member on Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test on Fox. The series strips 16 celebrities of their fame, testing their resilience through brutal Special Forces selection-inspired challenges, where survival is the only goal.

With a reputation as “TV’s most experienced, highest-ranking, and most decorated SAS leader”, Billy Billingham remains a defining figure in both military and entertainment worlds.
