FOC It Up – Podcast PR

Task

To launch the ‘Foc It Up’ podcast and broaden the awareness amongst the media for both the podcast itself and also live shows. To create a buzz within both mainstream outlets and more targeted urban and LGBTQI+ areas to ensure the right listenership was reached. Using these audiences and coverage created to drive tickets sales for the live event as well as securing listings and previews ahead of time.

What we did

We created a press release that sold Kemah and her podcast with her salient points that would capture the imagination of the media.

We carefully pitched to key and a diverse range of media, relevant podcasts, approaching them with a strong package of assets that including great images.

Results

We secured huge press features in The Evening Standard and Diva (who loved interviewing Kemah so much for their website, they interiewed her again for their magazine,) Pink News, and AZ Magazine.

We secured radio coverage with BBC Radio Five Live, BBC London, Gaydio and Times Radio. Podcast coverage was a key component of this campaign, we know that a huge percentage of new podcast audiences come from recommendations or coverage on other, well-known podcasts. We managed to secure guest slots on Two Twos Podcast, Dane Baptiste Podcast, Busy Being Black, Two Vegan Idiots and the Podbible Magazine. We also secured Kemah coverage in Podbible’s magazine that was included in 65,000 issues of The Sunday Times.
